BULK IMPORT

Bring your company over from your previous program.

The chart of accounts, the counterparties, the products and the opening balances come from your previous program's SAF-T file, and the employees, the assets and the payroll history from a template. The books in Cove carry on from the opening balances.

  • A ready template for every kind of record
  • No AI and no guesswork
  • A report on every skipped row

Everything you need. In one workflow.

  • A template for every kind of record

Clients and suppliers, products, price lists, employees, sales and expenses — each with its own CSV or Excel template.

  • Deterministic matching

Columns are recognized by label, key and curated synonyms, Bulgarian ones too — the same file always gives the same result.

  • Review before anything is saved

You see which field every column is matched to, and you can re-point or skip it before a single row is written.

  • Updates with Cove ID

Export, edit in Excel and upload back — rows with a Cove ID update their records instead of duplicating them.

  • Export in your own layout

CSV, Excel, TXT, JSON or PDF, with your columns, delimiter and encoding — and saved settings for next time.

  • Import through the API too

The same import over the REST API and MCP, up to 2,000 rows per request. From the Business Pro plan.

One template. No guesswork.

The template carries Cove's exact field headings, with an example and guidance for every column — and you can upload a CSV or Excel file of your own too. Columns are matched deterministically, and you see every match before anything is saved.

IMPORT REPORT

You know exactly what went in

Every import ends with a report of how many rows went in and why each skipped row didn't — on screen, as CSV and as PDF.

  • A reason for every row

The row's number in the file and the reason — you fix it in your file and upload it again.

  • The plan's limit, in view

If the plan's limit stops the file, Cove checks every row on its own and tells you how many went in.

  • Dates, amounts and countries — read for you

Excel serial dates, amounts with a currency symbol and country names in English or Bulgarian.

Clear steps. Connected data.

  1. Step 1

    Download the template

Choose what you're importing and download its CSV or Excel template.

  2. Step 2

    Fill it in

Copy your data into the template or upload your own file — up to 2,000 rows per file.

  3. Step 3

    Upload and review

Confirm the column matches and import — with a report of what went in.

Moving from your previous program — in order

In Data import, a company in Bulgaria finds the whole move laid out in the order it's done.

SAF-T from the previous program

The chart of accounts, counterparties, products and opening balances from one file, and the assets from the annual one. From the Business Essential plan.

Opening balances

The previous program's trial balance — the books in Cove carry on from it.

VAT journals as history

Past months' files for reference, not to be filed again.

Employees and payroll history

Employees from a template, and the salaries paid month by month as history.

Fixed assets

The register from a template, with the depreciation already charged. From the Business Pro plan.

Numbering and turnover

Invoice numbers carry on the old series, and the previous program's turnover counts towards the VAT thresholds.
